Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is a branch within Raja Yoga, the yoga of control, which is one of the four paths of yoga.
The practice involves breath, body and mind which is achieved in classes from 60 – 90 minute options, that include breathing, yoga poses and meditation.
The Asanas (Yoga Poses) are practised more slowly then in other types of Yoga and are designed to align you skin, muscle and bones.
Hatha Yoga benefits:
- Prevents and removes stress
- Improves blood circulation to the whole body and brain
- Regulates blood pressure
- Aids lymphatic system with detoxification
- Improves respiratory system
- Balances metabolism
- Improves spine and joint mobility
- Strenghtens muscles
Hatha Yoga is a powerful tool for self transformation.
Adaptations can be made to all asanas to keep you safe and with variations going forward to help develop your yoga practice further.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slow paced style of yoga that includes the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. The asanas (postures) are held for longer than in other yoga styles. Poses are held from 1 minute to 10 minutes dependant on your body.
Yin Yoga targets and stretches the deep connective tissue between the muscles, the muscles, the fascia throughout the body and blends in meditation to bring you back to a sense of ease.
Yin Yoga really complements other forms of yoga styles as well as other forms of exercise like running, weight training and cycling etc
This is because it increases the circulation in the joints, lengthens your muscles and improves flexibility and mobility. It really does help how our body moves and feels.
Everybody can do Yin Yoga, as I have all the equipment needed to help you achieve the poses how best suits your body. Every body is different and in this practice we adapt.
All equipment is provided, so you just need to bring yourself.

Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a very powerful and effective technique to help you control your body’s relaxation response. It is as restorative as sleep whilst you remain conscious in the “going to sleep” phase. This is usually induced with guided meditation.
Benefits to this practice are that sleep improves and insomnia is reduced, it helps you detach from your thoughts, releases pain and tension, helps you connect to yourself and promotes you finding the joy in your life.
This class will be offered in the wellbeing studio and via zoom so you can drift off at home.
