Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced and deeply calming style of yoga, rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In this practice, asanas (postures) are held for longer periods than in most other yoga styles — typically between 1 and 4 minutes, depending on your body and comfort.

Yin Yoga gently targets the deep connective tissues of the body, including the fascia, ligaments, and joints. By combining long-held stretches with mindful breathing and meditation, it helps you return to a sense of ease, balance, and inner calm.

Yin Yoga is especially beneficial because it:

✨ Improves flexibility and mobility
✨ Increases circulation in the joints
✨ Releases tension held deep within the body
✨ Supports relaxation and emotional wellbeing
✨ Enhances how your body moves and feels

Yin Yoga also beautifully complements more active forms of exercise such as running, cycling, and weight training, helping to restore balance and prevent stiffness.

Everyone can practise Yin Yoga. All poses can be fully supported and adapted using the equipment provided, ensuring the practice suits your unique body.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a deeply powerful and restorative relaxation practice, often referred to as “yogic sleep.” It is a guided meditation technique that helps you access the body’s natural relaxation response.

During Yoga Nidra, you rest comfortably while being gently guided into the in-between state of waking and sleep. Although the body becomes deeply relaxed, you remain consciously aware, allowing the practice to be as restorative as sleep itself.

Benefits of Yoga Nidra include:

✨ Improving sleep quality and reducing insomnia
✨ Helping you detach from busy or anxious thoughts
✨ Releasing physical pain, tension, and stress
✨ Supporting emotional balance and inner calm
✨ Deepening your connection to yourself
✨ Encouraging a greater sense of joy and wellbeing

This class is available both in the hall and via Zoom, so you can enjoy the practice in person or simply drift off into relaxation from the comfort of your own home.
